In Gadela Palem village of Gokavaram Mandal, concerns about religious conversions have surfaced, particularly voiced by several women devotees. These women reported ongoing conversion activities in their village, leading to a prompt response from Mr. Kambala Srinivasa Rao, a prominent community leader and advocate for Hindu cultural preservation.
Upon learning of these developments, Mr. Rao took immediate action by organizing a community rally to address the concerns directly. Joined by a group of around 200 supporters, they embarked on a bike rally, beginning at the Devi Chowk in Gokavaram and proceeding to Gadela Palem village. This rally culminated in a significant community gathering at the Kanakadurga Ammavari Temple in Gadela Palem, a revered site for local worship.
During this event, Mr. Rao and his team made efforts to strengthen community unity and awareness. A unique feature of the gathering was a special Varalakshmi lottery draw, where seven women devotees were awarded gold Varalakshmi as a gesture of respect and encouragement to stay connected with their cultural heritage. In addition to these initiatives, the temple committee highlighted the need for improvements in the infrastructure around the Kanakadurga Ammavari Temple, specifically the construction of a guard wall. Responding to this request, Mr. Rao and his team facilitated the construction of the guard wall at a cost of ₹2,50,000 to enhance the security and preservation of the temple premises.
Further fostering the spiritual connection of the community, a weekly distribution of Pulihara Prasadam, a traditional rice-based offering, was introduced. Each Friday, 5 kilograms of Pulihara Prasadam is prepared and distributed among devotees, creating a sense of community and offering devotees a sacred meal associated with the temple’s blessings.
